JUAN CARLOS FIERRO KICKS OFF REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGN FOR ARLINGTON COUNTY BOARD
27-Year Arlingtonian Says Voters Deserve A Choice In This Election

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Juan Carlos Fierro — husband, father, 27-year resident of Arlington, and a proud American — announced his campaign for Arlington County Board today.

“Arlington voters deserve a real choice between commonsense solutions and the failed policies of the political status quo,” Fierro said in his announcement. “The issues in this election cut across party lines and affect every Arlington resident: Affordable housing, the rising crime rates, and rising assessments and tax increases. Regardless of political affiliation, many hardworking Arlingtonians are disenchanted and disappointed with the political status quo in our community given how the existing board does not truly value public engagement.”

Fierro, who moved to Northern Virginia from Ecuador and earned his undergraduate degree from George Mason University while playing Division I basketball, ran for Arlington County Board in 2023. As a first-time candidate, Fierro shaped the debate on housing, crime, and affordability.

“Single-party rule benefits only a select few in our community,” Fierro continued. “Tens of thousands of Democrats, independents, and Republicans are left out of the process and disregarded by the current members of the County Board. Regardless of your party affiliation, my door will be open to you as we seek to make Arlington a better place.”

“It would be an honor to channel my dedication to community service on the County Board, and I am personally asking you for your consideration and your vote,” Fierro concluded.

Matthew Hurtt, Chairman of the Arlington GOP, applauded Fierro’s entry into the race.

“Juan Carlos Fierro is a dedicated husband, father, and community servant. Arlington residents would benefit from his thoughtful approach to solving complex problems and his business acumen,” Hurtt said. “I am grateful Juan Carlos Fierro is once again making a commonsense case to voters.”
