Leftists are pulling out all the stops to confuse and mislead voters ahead of the April 21st gerrymandering referendum.

Their latest scheme — a fake newspaper designed to look like legitimate news — is hitting mailboxes across the Commonwealth.
The Federalist reports:
“Virginia residents may have received a piece of mail from ‘The Virginia Independent,’ which has all the trappings of a local paper. Upon closer inspection, however, a resident might notice that a group called the American Independent Foundation (a nonprofit notorious for these kinds of propaganda efforts) sent the ‘newspaper.’ A reader will also see a United States Postal Service (USPS) postage-paid section listing WP LLC as the payer.”
This “pink slime” (fake partisan publication masquerading as news) broadside is distributed to mislead disengaged voters.
ARLnow also reported on this fake news tabloid:
“While redistricting is a prominent theme, most stories in the mailer are about other topics, including health care, therapy dogs and the Virginia Teaching Artists program.
“American Independent Media describes itself as ‘a progressive media organization that produces news and information content regarding government and politics.’ It had total revenues of $35.7 million in 2024.”
This desperate effort is part of a broader campaign to mislead voters using left-wing “Newspeak” to push the most radical gerrymandering proposal in the country.
Even the text of the proposed constitutional amendment is Orwellian-ly dishonest:
Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?
Far-left Congressman Don Beyer, who currently represents Virginia’s compact 8th Congressional District, said the proposed map “seems unfair in Virginia,” according to an NBC report.
Why are Democrats attempting to mislead voters?
According to a recent poll, an OVERWHELMING number of Virginians — including 70% of Democrats — oppose gerrymandering when the question is posed directly:

But that’s not how the question is posed on the ballot when voters go to the polls. And the language is deliberately misleading BECAUSE an overwhelming majority of Democrats, Independents, and Republicans OPPOSE gerrymandering.
Virginians are beginning to see through the far-left’s semantic scheme.
Mark Moran, a Democrat challenger to U.S. Senator Mark Warner in the primary, came out against the radical gerrymander. And this self-avowed leftist voted “NO!” in Arlington earlier this week.
The early voting numbers look good in deep-red counties across Virginia, but you and I must our part to run up the “Vote No!” turnout in Arlington.
Thank you for EVERYTHING you do for our Republican Party and our principles. We couldn’t make an impact without your engagement and support.
Onward,
