Newsletter: Republican Convention in Milwaukee
I’m on the ground in Milwaukee ahead of the 2024 Republican National Convention with Morton Blackwell, Virginia’s Republican National Committeeman. I apologize for not getting this update to you sooner.
You may already know the Convention Platform Committee met earlier this week and adopted a proposed Republican Party Platform — its first policy document since the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
I will have more thoughts about this and other pre-Convention developments on my Substack, likely later this week.
Shifting focus back to Arlington and Northern Virginia, the Arlington GOP posted its second best 2nd Quarter Fundraising Report in a decade — raising $9,570 for the period.
Year-to-date, the Committee raised more in 2024 than in any combined 1st & 2nd fundraising period in the last decade.
We couldn’t do this without you.
I want to personally thank each and every one of you who contributed to our efforts. Your investment — from $5 to $5,000 — will be invested in building out our Committee infrastructure and supporting our candidates this year.
I even brought my thank you cards and stamps, which I pay for personally and do not charge to the Committee, to Milwaukee — in case you decide to chip in over the next two weeks.
In addition to your impressive fundraising efforts, I am delighted to tell you the Committee will save an additional $3,000 through the end of the year with the closure of our large storage unit, which was completed at the end of June.
This savings will be directed into our 2024 efforts.
About our 2024 efforts: Do you know you have candidates up and down the ballot this November?
Donald J. Trump for President
Hung Cao for U.S. Senate
Jerry Torres for Congress (VA-08)
Juan Carlos Fierro for County Board

Introducing VA-08’s Republican Candidate:
Jerry Torres

Jerry Torres is an entrepreneur, a Green Beret, and a leader in humanitarian aid. He’s also our Republican nominee for Congress in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District.
He has an impressive resume in both business and public service, and he would bring a refreshing perspective to Congress from Northern Virginia — fighting for our principles and for those most vulnerable in our community.
You can read more about Jerry here.
I will be sending out more information about Jerry, his campaign, and the issues on which he’s campaigning in the coming weeks. Rest assured, he’s a candidate we can be proud to support.
