While Congress is taking off for August Recess, Arlington Republicans have hit the ground running for the 2024 election cycle.

To those of you who are receiving this email update for the first time — welcome! As Chairman of the Arlington GOP, I try my best to put actionable information in these regular updates for Republicans both in Arlington and across Northern Virginia.

That means including campaign and committee updates from across the region, as well as information about other opportunities to make a long-term impact right here in our community.

Wednesday Wake-Up Club Breakfast

The monthly Wednesday Wake-up Club Breakfast (WWCB) is hosted by Leadership Institute, a non-partisan educational organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a public foundation operating under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code.

Leadership Institute does not endorse, support, or oppose candidates or proposed legislation. Leadership Institute has an open admissions policy; all programs are open to the public. Contributions to the Leadership Institute by individuals, corporations, and foundations are tax deductible.

Donald Trump for President: The Trump Campaign hit the ground running right after the Convention with a Trump Force 47 kick-off event in Fairfax. If you’d like to be part of their efforts, sign up at Trump Force 47 or email Jonathon Nave: jnave@virginia.gop

The campaign has yard signs. You can arrange to pick yours up by replying to this email.

Protect the Vote (Statewide Election Integrity Effort): If you have been involved with Arlington Republicans for more than a few months, you know this Committee has a robust Election Integrity (EI) operation. 

The Republican National Committee, in support of statewide campaign efforts, has also established an Election Integrity operation. These overlapping efforts will coordinate when and where possible. Those interested in serving as election attorneys, poll watchers, or Officers of Election (paid positions before and on Election Day) can read more and sign up here:

Hung Cao for Senate: Hung Cao is mounting a campaign to defeat Tim Kaine. You can get involved in his efforts here. 

Jerry Torres for Congress (VA-08): A.J. Cooke, campaign manager for Jerry Torres, gave an excellent presentation on Jerry’s behalf at our Annual Summer Cookout. Torres is re-launching his site and will be on the campaign trail soon.

Juan Carlos Fierro for County Board: Juan Carlos Fierro’s campaign hit the ground running with impressive literature (in English & Español). You can check out JCF’s website (and donate directly to the campaign)here and request literature by replying to this email.

Arlington Republican Women’s Club: Join the Arlington Republican Women’s Club for their annual Summer Bar-B-Cue at Island Time Bar & Grill at Columbia Island Marina on Sunday, September 8th. They’re announcing a special guest speaker soon. You can read more details and secure your ticket(s) here.

Arlington-Alexandria-Falls Church Young Republicans: The AAFCYRs are planning a summer cookout of their own. Keep track of everything they’re up to on Facebook and Twitter/X.
