The Arlington GOP makes select newsletter updates available on our site to inform the broader public of our activities. If you would like to receive our regular, weekly newsletter, you may subscribe here: http://eepurl.com/izWNfI
Thank you to everyone who attended or supported our 2024 Annual Cookout with Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform.
Despite Biden-Harris inflation, which forced us to spend about 20% more on food and drink, Arlington Republican raised a record-setting 25% more than what we raised at our 2023 Summer Cookout and more than twice what we raised during pre-pandemic summer events.
This is a testament to your commitment to our efforts and to the growth of our organization.
One of the most inspiring moments during the cookout on Saturday was when I said, “Raise your hand if this is your first Arlington GOP event,” and roughly a quarter of attendees raised your hands.
As your Chairman, it’s my responsibility to connect new and returning Arlington Republicans into efforts to advance Republican principles across Arlington. More on that in a moment.
Here are a few photos from Saturday’s event:

Thank you to Grover Norquist for stopping by to provide some insight about what it means to be a Republican and how important our work is in Arlington.
Thank you also to Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, who sent a video message to Arlington Republicans for the Cookout.

You can view (and share) AG Miyares’ video message on Facebook, Twitter/X, and on our website.
Thank you to former 8th District GOP and Arlington GOP Chairman Andrew Loposser, Zach Ramsey, and Sue Arnold for your handiwork on and around the grill and to Bernadette Farrell, who served as the event’s bouncer (greeter).
Thank you also to everyone who picked up a trash bag and helped clean up the space at the close of the event — John F., Dana L., Becky G., Payam A., and so many others.
Lastly, thank you once again to our Host Committee for helping make this event a tremendous success:

I am so excited about what this organization is working to accomplish. We couldn’t do it without your time, talent, and personal investment.
Mark your calendar! Our next meeting will be Monday, August 26th. I will provide more details in a future email.
Our meetings are open to the public — you do not have to be a dues-paying member of the Arlington GOP to attend. That said, we will have several orders of business to discuss regarding payment for campaign-related expenses.
Discussion and votes on Committee business are open to members only.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who has chipped in to help the Arlington Republicans fully-invest in our candidates and outreach this cycle. With the end-of-July fundraising deadline just around the corner, consider chipping in $25, $50, $100, or more toward our efforts.
Every penny you contribute goes directly toward our efforts — no expensive consultants and no flashy campaign gimmicks. Thank you.

Thanks for having me, this resident of Fairfax County at the cookout. You put on a great show! Grover and the others gave good talks. Good luck in the future. Jim Burns.
