Chairman’s Interview on WMAL

I called into WMAL on Friday afternoon to talk Virginia politics and solve the most pressing local issue facing Arlington over the last few years: Affordable Housing.
Corey Inganamort, who filled in for Vince Coglianese, asked about what Arlington Republicans are doing to turn out voters in this election, how our Committee engages in local policy, and about the 2025 gubernatorial election. You can
Additionally, I call into Nashville’s Cumulus talk station to talk about the presidential election on a weekly basis. While the focus isn’t local to Arlington, I do use platforms like this to share our Republican message. You can hear my most recent interview on SuperTalk 99.7 WWTN here.
The Arlington GOP receives a surprising amount of media requests, and I leverage these opportunities to get our message to a broader audience.

Recap from Weekend Events
Arlington Republicans had a presence at the ASHPA Hispanic Heritage 3rd Annual Community Festival on Saturday, and the Arlington Republican Women’s Club hosted their annual End-of-Summer BBQ on Sunday.

Both Jerry Torres and Juan Carlos Fierro carried our Republican message to Hispanic voters with the help of Trump Force 47 this weekend at the ASHPA Hispanic Heritage 3rd Annual Community Festival.
Big shoutout to Pia, Kenneth, Roger, Romelia, and Brian for helping staff the booth and engaging with voters from across Arlington.

The Arlington Republican Women’s Club hosted their annual End-of-Summer BBQ on Sunday at Island Time Bar & Grill at the Columbia Island Marina. Special guest speaker Jonathon Nave — Northern Virginia Deputy Director for Trump Force 47 — shared an update from the Trump campaign’s on-the-ground efforts, while Diane Cullo — Deputy Director for Virginia for Trump’s Election Integrity efforts — shared an update on their Protect the Vote efforts.
On the 2025 campaign front, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears announced her campaign for Governor on Friday.

From the Fox News article:
Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears announced her bid to succeed term-limited Gov. Glenn Youngkin in 2025, telling Fox News that she wants to build on her fellow Republican’s record of revitalizing the Old Dominion’s economy.
Earle-Sears, if successful in the primary, will potentially face Rep. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va., if the similarly prominent Virginian wins the Democratic primary.
You can read more about Sears’ campaign for Governor here.
In what appeared to be a shot across the bow to the Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General Jason Miyares tweeted the following statement after Sears’ announcement:

It is widely suspected Attorney General Miyares will enter the race for Governor.
The Arlington GOP does not wade into intra-party nominating contests. The Committee — through regular newsletter updates like this one and on social media and through other communications — will promote all Republican candidates in multi-candidate contests equally.
I may have a preference in multi-candidate nominating contests, but I will not put my thumb on the scale to favor one candidate over another. And I do not believe the Party should use Party resources to support one candidate over another in a multi-candidate nominating contest.

Become a Member of the Arlington GOP

More Arlington Republicans have expressed interest in joining the Arlington GOP as full or affiliate members for the remainder of the term. The term of a Committee runs from spring of one even-numbered year to the spring of the next even-numbered year.
The Arlington GOP re-constituted in March 2024 and this Committee, its leadership, and its membership will remain in place until March 2026.
While the process isn’t complicated, it is multi-step. Here is the process:
- Declare your intent to join the Arlington GOP as a full or affiliate member at one Membership Meeting. If you’re interested in joining the Arlington GOP, you may declare your intent at an upcoming membership meeting.
- Between the first meeting and either of the subsequent two membership meetings, complete this membership declaration form and pay requisite dues.
- Attend either of the next two membership meetings to have your membership approved. If you declare your intent to join the Arlington GOP at the next membership meeting, you must attend either of the subsequent two membership meetings to confirm your membership.
Thank you to Russell, Daniel, Margie, Lani, and Norm for expressing your intent to join the Committee last month.
While most Arlington GOP meetings are open to the general public, you must be a full member to vote on Committee business. On several occasions throughout the two-year term of the Committee, members will vote on approval of spending proposals, policy pronouncements, and candidate nominating processes.
Only full members may take part in these matters.
Affiliate membership does not grant voting rights in the Committee; however, paying affiliate dues does grant you a seat at the table for other Arlington GOP matters.
If you have any questions about this process, please reply to this email.
