Post-election celebrations continue!

Join the Arlington-Alexandria-Falls Church Young Republicans TONIGHT at Barley Mac (1600 Wilson Blvd Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22209) for their monthly happy hour & chapter meeting.

The happy hour starts at 6pm, followed by their chapter meeting at 7pm. Former AAFCYR Chairman and New York Post 2024 Swing State Campaign Reporter Victoria Snitsar Churchill is their guest speaker. See more details and RSVP on Facebook here.

The Young Republicans are a critically-important auxiliary organization for any Republican Committee, and I’m grateful for their efforts throughout this election cycle.

As a former Chairman of this Young Republican chapter, I understand the benefits of an active, engaged Young Republican group — and I encourage you to join them and support their efforts.

I’m still recovering from Election Day and the many post-election celebrations, but I was able to dig into some of the metrics of your success over the weekend.

Here are some highlights of what you accomplished during the 2024 cycle:

✅ Mailed 25,000 sample ballots to modeled Republican voters
✅ Distributed 7,500+ sample ballots during Early Voting and on Election Day
✅ Sent 189,000+ email updates to Republican activists and donors
✅ Sent thousands of campaign texts to Arlington voters on behalf of Juan Carlos Fierro

✅ Recruited 150+ campaign and committee volunteers & poll watchers
✅ Tripled the number of Republican-affiliated election officials
✅ Nearly doubled @GOPArlington’s follower count on Twitter/X

✅ Exposed DOZENS of instances of intolerant leftists who vandalized, destroyed, or stole Republican yard signs
✅ Reached millions of viewers and listeners on television and radio with our Republican message
✅ Earned 2.5 million+ impressions across all social media platforms

✅ Raised $45,000+ (nearly double our 2023 fundraising) from 240+ individuals in more than 340 individual contributions
✅ Increased Republican votes for Donald Trump by 13% over 2020 results
✅ Swung the election 5.46% in Trump’s favor from 2020 performance

Many people wrote you off. They said you couldn’t do it.

And while Arlington Democrats spent nearly every weekend salvaging Kamala Harris’s flailing campaign in North Carolina and Pennsylvania (she lost BOTH!), you organized in Arlington and across Northern Virginia.

You knocked doors.

You made phone calls.

You distributed sample ballots.

You served as poll watchers and election officials.

You did the work.

I will provide a complete report at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner — the details of which can be found below.

It is natural for energy and enthusiasm to wax and wane between elections — with most Committee activity happening in a Presidential election year — but I hope you will continue to stay involved as we move into Virginia’s gubernatorial cycle in 2025.

Thank you for all you’ve done — and all you will continue to do — for our Party and our principles.

Onward,

Matthew Hurtt, Chairman
Arlington GOP

State Senate Special Election (Loudoun County)

Loudoun County Republicans nominated Tumay Harding in the special election for State Senate (District 32) to replace Suhas Subramanyam, a Democrat who was elected to Congress earlier this month.

The general election is scheduled for January 7th — and could decide the partisan control of the State Senate. While the district leans reliably Democratic, special election turnout is unpredictable.

The Second Inauguration of Donald J. Trump

The Second Inauguration of Donald J. Trump will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025. The Arlington GOP does not have tickets to the swearing-in ceremony, the inaugural address, or the pass in review, nor do we currently have plans to sponsor an inaugural celebration.

However, this site provides information about securing tickets to the inaugural festivities and other processes. I caution you against paying to attend the official inauguration. Tickets will be available from your members of Congress in the weeks leading up to the inauguration at no cost to you.

Other inaugural festivities — including inaugural balls and other celebratory events — may require you to purchase tickets.

If you have questions about whether or not you should pay for a certain event, please email me directly. I will be happy to provide further insight into celebratory opportunities.
